KMC headquarters Building Double Façade

The unique double facade of the KMC headquarters building in Hyderabad, India is both visually interesting and highly efficient in delivering a comfortable environment for the occupants.  The outer skin is comprised of cast aluminum sunshades that support living plant life via an integrated growing medium in stainless steel trays and watering system, stainless steel catwalks for maintenance of the living facade, and window wall cleaning.  The exterior living facade is punctuated with structural glass cubes for common areas and meeting rooms.  The internal skin is composed of a conventional full-height window wall with integral operable windows for natural ventilation and access to the catwalk on each floor.  The character of the facade continues to evolve with ever-changing greenery and shading to the interior spaces.
