Denver, CO
The building envelope for Denver’s new Hilton Garden Inn presented an opportunity for Lerch Bates to address design challenges with the integration of the historic firehouse and below-grade parking extending below the water table. The 12-story L-shaped hotel wraps around the long-deteriorating Denver Hose Company No. 1 building at 20th Street and Chestnut Place. Lerch Bates provided a specialized waterproofing consulting and performance testing program that began with pre-construction meetings and training seminars for the waterproofing installer and other building envelope sub-trades to help mitigate risks for the installation of this complex system. Lerch Bates continued through the project with Construction Phase quality assurance observations and reporting, and building enclosure field performance testing including AAMA 501.2 Water Spray Testing and Electronic Leak Detection Testing.
