About this project

Byron G. Rogers Federal Building Water Intrusion

The Byron G. Rogers Federal Building is the 620,000 square-foot home to 11 different federal agencies and a local hub for the federal government in Colorado. The building has a historic designation that prevented altering the appearance of the building envelope, which posed a challenge as the windows experienced significant water leakage during weather events. Lerch Bates conducted a series of tests to identify the sources and extent of the water intrusion and used this data to design window repairs. Lerch Bates identified and designed solutions to stop the intrusion. Lerch Bates’ solution contributed to an 80% reduction in energy use, overall sustainability upgrades, and renovated spaces that increased the security and comfort of occupants.
