About this project

The BART Silicon Valley Phase II Extension Project will extend the transit system 6 miles from the Berryessa Transit Center into downtown San José and Santa Clara, creating a vital connection for regional commuters. This $12.7 billion project includes three underground stations, one ground-level station, and a single-bore tunnel to minimize construction disruptions. Expected to open in March 2039, the extension aims to support 55,000 daily riders by 2040, improving connectivity, reducing traffic, and promoting transit-oriented development.
