Intern Spotlight

Before our interns head back to college, our employee-owners had the pleasure of listening to presentations summarizing each intern’s time with Lerch Bates with a recap of their key takeaways and favorite projects. From zoos and stadiums to hotels, apartment complexes and more, our interns were able to gain hands-on experience and apply their education to some of our amazing projects. The interns were able to visit multiple job sites and learn to perform services such as Air Barrier Testing, Quality Assurance Observations, Property Condition Reports, Forensic Investigations, Elevation Heat Maps, Design Drawings and more.

A common theme in the interns’ presentations was how valuable it was to step outside of the classroom and get onsite experience. They were able to learn the process of how Lerch Bates delivers technical expertise to our clients and how important their studies will be to the Built Environment. McAben Prince, an Architecture major in Boston said,

“This summer, my biggest takeaway was understanding the critical role of architectural drawings in communicating with the rest of the project team. I learned that precise details in these drawings are essential for ensuring a smooth project flow, preventing unnecessary time and cost overruns.”

Our interns were also very excited to share their experience with our company culture and their first experience in a professional office setting. LB’s core value of community really shone through the presentations and takeaways of the interns. Jackson Merrill, an intern at our Dallas office, said,

“I have loved every minute of working here at this office. […] Everyone has been super friendly, super understanding and willing to help me learn.”

Praise and kind remarks flooded the chat as our interns presented, showing just how meaningful the summer was for not just the interns, but for all LB team members.

Lerch Bates has enjoyed the summer we had with our awesome interns, and we hope to see them again soon!
