National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Complex Project

 

The NNSA Sandia Headquarters Facility in Albuquerque, NM is a three story 332,800 square foot administration facility for approximately 1,200 employees. Construction of the new complex was authorized by the U.S. Department of EnergyU.S. Department of EnergyU’s (DoE) National Nuclear Security Administration to replace 25 aged and dilapidated buildings currently located near Kirtland Air Force Base and Sandia National Laboratories.

Required by the Department of Energy to achieve LEED Gold Certification, Lerch Bates worked with Burns & McDonnell in providing Building Enclosure Consulting & Commissioning (BECx) services. This included Technical Plan and Specifications Reviews, Commissioning Plan and Specification Review, Quality Control Checklists, On-site Quality Assurance Observations, and ASTM E 779 Air Barrier Performance Testing and Infrared Thermography Diagnostics.
