Brings More Than 13 Years of Engineering and
Management Experience to South Florida Office
Lerch Bates, an international consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management, announced John Mandigo has been named project manager, elevator consulting group. He joins the world’s largest and oldest vertical transportation consulting firm in its greater Miami office with more than 13 years of notable industry experience.
In his new role with Lerch Bates, Mandigo is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for design, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout Florida. He previously managed modernization and new construction projects for ThyssenKrupp Elevator in northern Florida where he specialized in growth strategy development, financial and capital planning and expenditure analysis. During his tenure at the firm, Mandigo was instrumental in the intensive growth of the company in the state by capitalizing on the implementation of new product technologies. He spearheaded many notable projects for ThyssenKrupp Elevator including Tampa’s Bank of America Plaza, a 16-elevator destination dispatch modernization and the modernization project for the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando, another project where destination dispatch technology was utilized to increase traffic flow.
Mandigo’s extensive career also includes serving as a modernization manager at Otis Elevator Company in Miami and as a thermodynamics sales engineer where he identified innovative energy saving solutions through psychometrics and engineering applications. One of the most demanding and rewarding projects included a $52 million retrofit at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He has been involved with negotiations exceeding $100 million thus far in his career in industries such as healthcare, government, mixed-use development, universities, hotel and resort, manufacturing and commercial.

Mandigo’s strong technical and business background is supported by his education. He earned a Master of Science degree in major program management from the University of Oxford, a Master of Science in engineering co-sponsored by The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a MBA from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Florida State University.
