Welts Joins International Consulting Firm with
More Than 19 Years of Industry Experience
Lerch Bates announced vertical transportation industry veteran Ron Welts has been named project manager, elevator consulting group, in its San Francisco office. Welts joins the world’s oldest and largest consulting firm for vertical transportation, façade access and materials management with more than 19 years of extensive elevator and escalator industry experience.
Welts is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for designs, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout Northern California. He most recently served as an elevator installation superintendent providing leadership for the installation of traction and hydraulic elevators and escalators for KONE in the greater San Francisco area. Ron also worked for Otis Elevator Company for 14 years in numerous roles including service operations manager, general manager, service supervisor and construction superintendent. He also served in the United States Navy as a commissioned officer in the early 1990s.

Welts earned a Bachelor of Science in marine transportation from California Maritime Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
