Vertical Transportation Industry Veteran Joins Firm
as It Continues to Expand Presence in Region
Lerch Bates (China) Limited, a Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise (WFOE) in Shanghai, China, operated by Lerch Bates, announced industry leader Matthew Li has been named project manager, elevator consulting group. Li provides a comprehensive range of vertical and horizontal transportation consulting services to the firm’s diverse portfolio of clients throughout the People’s Republic of China.
Li is based in Shanghai and oversees design and construction services for vertical and horizontal transportation equipment, performs system studies and manages maintenance evaluations and modernization services. He previously served as a national installation senior manager (China) for SIGMA Elevator Company and in numerous roles during his 10-year tenure with ThyssenKrupp including branch general manager, regional installation manager and regional business manager. Li has been a member of the teams that have designed and constructed some of the China’s most high-profile projects including the 1,614-foot (492-meter) tall Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), Beijing Subway, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Times Plaza.

Li earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest University in Chongqing, China.
