Lerch Bates To Provide Vertical Transportation, Facade Access And Materials Management Services For Boston Project

The tallest building to be built in Boston in more than 20 years is expected to break ground in the coming months. Lerch Bates is proud to announce that it has been selected by developer Carpenter & Company, Inc. to join the team designing and constructing the high-rise tower adjacent to Christian Science Plaza.The development includes a mid-rise structure and a high-rise tower that will be the tallest building built in Boston in more than 20 years.
 
Lerch Bates will design the vertical transportation and façade access systems as well as perform materials management and handling services for the tower. The project at Belvidere and Dalton streets is part of a larger development plan to redesign the 14.8-acre Christian Science Plaza in the city’s Back Bay. The structure will rise 691 feet and will feature 58 floors, 712,500 square feet, a 250-room hotel, 170 condominium units, restaurants and shops. Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Cambridge Seven Associates were chosen as collaborating architects for the project. Construction of the tower is expected to begin in early 2014 with completion in 2017.
