In his new role with Lerch Bates, Cory Hunter is tasked with providing vertical transportation consulting services for design, maintenance, due diligence and modernizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. He previously managed Centric Elevator Corporation of Oregon in northern Portland where he specialized in growth strategy development, vertical transportation modernization and maintenance. During his tenure at the firm, Hunter was instrumental in the intensive growth of the company in the state by capitalizing on the implementation of non-proprietary equipment design and placement in the market. He spearheaded many notable projects for Centric Elevator including OHSU’s C-Wing Elevator modernization and the modernization projects for the Jackson County. Prior to Centric, Hunter was an international lumber trader, coordinating international business development, logistics and domestic distribution of hardwoods and plywood products. Hunter started his career as a Technical Engineer Specialist in the Marine Corps in 1998, where he was trained as a land surveyor and responsible for surveying and designing buildings and roads for military applications.
Hunter’s strong technical and business background is supported by his education. He is a qualified elevator inspector (CEI) and developed a written maintenance control program for the Northwest. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University as well as advanced degrees in Management including a Doctor of Philosophy in Lift Engineering Management and a Master in Business Administration.
